Minnow Cheese (Pimento Cheese)
Some southern classics, here are the recipes for Honey Butter Shrimp, Butterbeans & Pimento Cheese Grits. You can add pimento cheese to so many recipes!

Button’s Crab Casserole

Crab Casserole

I adore any dish that involves crab. When we were kids, we’d catch crabs off my Grandma’s “Buttons” dock, then she’d make the kids pick them out of the shells. She’d turn our hard work into either crab cakes or a crab casserole.
This recipe is the closest I’ve found to the one she used, originally from Blessed Isle. Grandma always added water chestnuts, so I do too—they give the perfect little crunch. I love serving this casserole with slaw, hush puppies, and sliced tomatoes. 💗
Mom’s Blackberry Cobbler
Mom’s Blackberry Cobbler
When we were kids my sister and I would pick blackberries and bring them home. They grow wild all over the island and along the boardwalks and ditches in the streets. Mom always made us Blackberry Cobbler. The recipe says peaches but you can use any fruit.

Fried Green Tomatoes

Fried Green Tomatoes
It doesn’t get any more southern than this. These are so good, you can serve them with grits, salads, seafood the possibilities are endless.

Farm Fresh Cornbread

Farm Fresh Cornbread
You can add pimento cheese, hot honey, anything your heart desires. I like to make flavored butters to go with it like blackberry, blueberry & strawberry.

Strawberry & Peach Freezer Jam

These are jams you can freeze, then thaw to eat. Store them in the fridge. I had a hard time getting the peach to set but it was still good! They make cute gifts too! I cut little scraps of fabric to wrap around the tops then added bows!
